Nicholas Alves

Nicholas is a graduate-level therapist studying Marriage and Family Therapy at Curry College. With a foundation in Political Science and Philosophy from Rhode Island College and was a Master's student in Urban Education from Providence College, Nicholas brings a unique blend of academic rigor and real-world experience to the therapeutic space.

Before transitioning into the field of therapy, Nicholas dedicated over eight years to teaching high school history at Blackstone Academy Charter School. In that role, he supported a diverse population of students, including English Language Learners and those with learning differences, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges. His background in education sharpened his ability to listen, empathize, and adapt to the unique needs of each individual.

Nicholas currently supports individuals and families by fostering environments of trust, resilience, and growth. His approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate, drawing on his experiences in education, ministry, and community engagement. He believes in meeting people where they are and walking with them toward healing and empowerment.

His Christian faith plays an integral role in his worldview and practice, inspiring him to offer care that is rooted in love, respect, and grace. Nicholas is passionate about strengthening families and guiding individuals through life’s transitions with empathy and purpose.

Outside of his professional life, Nicholas finds joy in connecting with others and creating spaces where community can thrive. He enjoys organizing church events, spending quality time with family and friends, and engaging in meaningful conversations that uplift and inspire. Whether planning a program or simply sharing a meal, Nicholas values the power of togetherness and the everyday moments that bring people closer
