Carissa Coolbaugh
Carissa is a graduate level therapist currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Southern Connecticut State University and is eager to bring her academic training into professional practice.
Carissa has a background in social services, where she supported individuals navigating diverse life circumstances. This experience taught her the importance of taking the time to listen and how to help individuals access essential resources.
Carissa approaches counseling with warmth, empathy, and genuine care for each individual’s unique experiences and goals. She believes that the connection and rapport between client and therapist are central to meaningful growth and healing. Above all, Carissa is committed to ensuring that clients feel truly heard and supported throughout the counseling journey.
Carissa integrates her Christian faith into counseling when it aligns with the client’s preferences and desires. She holds a deep respect for all personal values and beliefs and ensures sessions are tailored to clients' individual needs.
Outside of her work, Carissa enjoys singing on the worship team at her church and spending time with her family, friends, and cat.
