Richard Guion

MDiv, MA, DMin

Richard holds a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts. As a therapist, his goal is to help people successfully navigate mental health issues and relationship challenges and lead healthy, thriving, meaningful, and productive lives.

He works with clients struggling with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, couples issues, family issues, etc. Some of the modalities he employs are cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, exposure and response prevention therapy, prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD, and Gottman method couples therapy. 

As an ordained Christian pastor, Richard also provides Christian clients, who desire to incorporate biblical principles into their counseling sessions, with holistic treatment and care based on an integration of biblical truths and evidence-based theories and practices from psychology. Additionally, as a Chinese-Filipino speaking multiple languages and dialects and having many years of experience in ministering to multiethnic congregations, he can adapt to counselees from diverse cultural backgrounds and deliver culturally competent service to them.
